Just when we are finally feeling comfortable enough to venture out, BOOM afternoon thunderstorms. If we're not in the midst of these unpredictable storms, the sun is beating down making it pretty miserable for us (and even our pups!) to enjoy the time away from home.
After dealing with this for many afternoons myself, I decided to put together a list of outdoor dining options that offer covered patios or porches to solve allll the problems. Enjoy, and let me know if there are any that I missed!
Morgan Street Food Hall | 411 W Morgan St. Raleigh, NC 27603 | 919-307-4481
Trying to please a group? Morgan Street Food Hall is the perfect fit. Human food choices abound inside, and dog water bowls fill their covered patio outside!
Tazza Kitchen | 600 Ledgestone Way Cary, NC 27519 | 919-651-8281
Tazza is one of my favorite recommendations for wood fired favorites and seasonal cocktails. The Cary location has ample shaded seating to enjoy your sausage and honey pizza (A MUST!)
Humble Pie | 317 S Harrington St. Raleigh, NC 27603 | 919-829-9222
I love Humble Pie's adventurous small plates and fun tiki-bar vibe. Their patio is wide open with full coverage so you can spend as much time as you need pondering the menu!
Scratch Kitchen | 225 S Salem St. Apex, NC 27502 | 919-372-5370
Scratch is newer to the Apex dining scene and thankfully open for al fresco dining! Their dedicated mac and cheese menu and online waitlist option make this choice delicious and safe!
Vin Rouge | 2010 Hillsborough Rd. Durham, NC 27705 | 919-416-0466
International travel may be a no-go, but a night in France by way of Durham? Yes, please! This bistro is filled with classic French dishes and their outdoor area has all the right vibes.
Wilson's Eatery | 1053 E Whitaker Mill Rd. Raleigh, NC 27604 | 919-451-5534
Wilson's checks all my boxes- pet friendly, shady patio, and lots of locally sourced options from flatbreads, to nachos, to beer brewed right next door!
Hope these spark some fun adventures for you as we transition into fall!
